Designing a lamp using geometrical tessellations may seem like a purely technical exercise, but in reality, it’s so much more. As a designer, I believe that our creations should always have a human touch, and that means infusing our designs with personality and character.

When I first started experimenting with tessellations, I found that each pattern had its own unique personality. Some were bold and striking, while others were more subtle and elegant. I realized that by playing with the scale and orientation of the shapes, I could create a lamp that conveyed a particular mood or emotion..

But a lamp isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s also about function. As I worked on my designs, I thought about how the lamp would be used in a real-world setting. Would it provide a soft and warm glow for a cozy evening at home? Or would it be a bright and vibrant light for a bustling office environment? By considering the context in which the lamp would be used, I was able to ensure that my designs were not only beautiful, but also practical.

Designed with human touch.

But perhaps the most important element of designing with a human touch is the emotional connection that a piece can create. A well-designed lamp can evoke memories of a favorite place, a cherished moment, or a special person. It can become a beloved object that is passed down from generation to generation.

That’s why, as designers, it’s important to remember that our work is not just about creating beautiful objects. It’s about creating experiences that enrich people’s lives and bring joy and beauty into the world. By infusing our designs with a human touch, we can create pieces that resonate with people on a deeper level and make a lasting impact .
